activity in slippery rock
I new Slippery Rock was an active campus, but I thought it was pretty amazing because my friends and I went for a run around campus and we had to have passed like fifty other people. If people weren't running, they were outside throwing footballs or frisbees. I think that it's great to see everyone outside doing somthing active.

some obesity stuff.
I was reading for my fitness ed test and i came upon somthing that was kind of interesting to me. It said that the cause of obesity from children to adults is not really linked to food, but linked to not exercising. It basically said your going to gain weight if you don't exercise no matter what you eat. That was kinda interesting to me because I never really thought of it like that. I thought obesity was linked to food but when you think about it, it really is linked to exercise or lack of it.

low ropes course better than high
So, today in outdoor pursuits we did some of the low ropes course activities. I enjoy the lower ones a lot more than the higher ones, even though Mr. Smith said the lower ones can be more dangerous. I think i'm just scared of heights also. I would totally do anything near the ground, but when it comes to being high up in the air, it's a completely different situation.

warm weather makes people more active
I love how warm weather makes you want to be more active and want to work out more because you are more motivated to. I feel like it's not just me that does this, but a lot of other people. It's great that people become more active. I just wish that the weather here was always warm, because that would probally make more people active and work out than just when it's nice.

Interactive powerpoint
I think that the interactive powerpoint is actually a pretty interesting way to do powerpoint. It seems like it is a lot better than regular and more beneficial. It can look really professional from what I can tell and I will prob. use it in the future.

xantax, a drug to stop smoking
Theres this newer drug called XANTAX it is a drug to get people to stop smoking. It's actually kind of amazing because it blocks somthing in the brain that triggers them wanting to smoke. The people who use it don't want to smoke anymore while they are on the drug and smoking makes them sick. The only thing about this is there are a lot of side effects such as weird dreams, depression, etc. My mom is taking this drug, but the only other thing about it was when she used it the first time, as soon as she stopped she started to smoke again. I think the only way it works is if you truly want to stop smoking and do not have to rely on the drug to completely do the quitting for you.

DVR
I love the DVR for the television. I always want to watch certain shows but can't catch them up at school, so I have my family record it for me at home. I come home and can watch whatever I missed. You don't even have to be at the tv at the time of the show, you can set to record the shows earlier, and you can delete or keep the recording as long as you want. It's very easy and convenient, and nice to have.

bowling.
I went bowling a couple times over break and I realized how fun the sport is. I think it would be cool to become a real good bowler and do it as a hobby or sport or somthing. It's also a good way to hang out with people and is a calm enough setting wher eyou can interact with others. It's actually more competitive than I realized and is pretty fun.

Wii Carnival game
I played the Carnival games on Wii the other week, and I felt like I was actually at a carnival, minus the food. It was really fun playing all the different games and trying to beat the other person. I think it's good for everyone to play at all ages. If you wanted, you could prob. even play with your grandparents except for the strength game cause you have to move the controler really fast.

Rock Climbing
So, tomorrow we are going to be rockclimbing for the Outdoor Pursuits class. I did this once at the beginning of the school year, made it to the top, came back down and vowed I would never do that again. It was pretty scary, but tomorrow i'm nervous because our own classmates will be spotting eachother. It could be fun, and it is a rush, but i'm pretty nervous. I also remember it being a very good work out, so I guess I am excited about that.

vcr's
Barely anyone has VCR's anymore. In my public speaking class, we are required to have a video tape so we can record ourselves while giving our speeches. He asked who all watched theres, and who didn't. Barely anyone raised their hands. He asked why, and everyone said they don't have a VCR at home or at school. I think it's kind of interesting how fast people move away from old technology and are all about dvd's now.

guitar hero
I think guitar hero is probally one of the best games invented. I love playing it and can't wait to when I go home. I know that sounds lame, but at least I don't have it up at school. If I did, I bet I would play it all the time. It's actually good for coordination skills I think. It could be kind of educational with information on music and is a way to learn who sings what songs, and what kind of music they play.

where to live next year.
Finding a place to live next year is becoming extremely frustrating. My two best friends live in cooper street and don't want to share bedrooms so they don't want anyone else to move in. This leaves me with my roomy right now. She is not willing to buy cable or Internet which at least the Internet is a necessity. I am just very frustrated, because whoever else I could live with lives at the IVY or Stonecrest, or the Heights etc. All the places that I cannot afford. I'm hoping soon to find somwere to live hopefully with someone I know or would like to actually live with. I would be happy to be near my best friends at cooper street which would be nice. So hopefully I find somthing soon.

I hate cold weather.
I'm really starting to hate winter and the weather more than I ever did. I cannot stand the cold anymore. The other day my roomate and I walked back from the arc, and my face was literally purple. I tried to cover it up, but it wasn't working too well. It makes me wonder why I did not go to school out of state like down south. I would prob. be more happy in a different climate, but the only reason I like the snow is so Christmas feels like Christmas. Other than that, I hate it.

The Arc
I just realized recently how much I love the arc at Slippery Rock. I always want to work out, and used to be somewhat lazy with it and only work out when I felt out of shape rather than all the time. When I went home for Christmas break, I missed the Arc so much. Sure, there are other gyms to go to in Butler, but I just love the choices of equipment that our gym at Slippery Rock has. I now take advantage of having such a fully equipped gym and want to live up here this summer just so I can go there every day. It makes you feel so good about yourself, and really gets you in shape fast if you get there very often.
my cell phone is horrible.
So, my cell phone had it's battery replaced like 3 times already. I just got a new one at the beginning of the fall semester. My phone kept dying everytime I charged it and after I would make one phone call. I took it in yesterday to get a new battery and the guy said it should be fine, because they last a year. He took a look at it and said it was bad. They then charged me 40 dollars for a new battery. I think that if the battery is already dead when it is supposed to be lasting for over six months longer, that I should not have been charged that much.

my ipod.. fixed.
I think ipods are prob. one of the coolest kinds of technology, but the only thing I don't like about them is that they can get destroyed very easily. I ended up destroying the screen of my ipod and it would not turn on. I was really excited to find out though there was a way to fix it because I have so many songs on my own ipod. It wasn't even overly expensive to replace the screen especially to the regular cost of an ipod. So now I can work out at the gym with all my original music that I like to listen to because it got fixed.

i missed LOST because the tv was bugging out.
My favorite show LOST was on for the season premier on Thursday and I was so excited. I was going to go over to my friends place at the Ivy and watch it, but I didn't get a ride in time so I decided to watch it here. For some reason the tv was scribly on channel 4 which was really odd because I thought everyone could get that channel, so I decided to watch it in the lounge. Well, it was even a worse picture in there. While I was watching it in my room it kept fading in and out to the point I missed the first part of the show. I was very upset. I called another one of my friends and he came and picked me up to watch it at his place. By the time we got there, my show was 10 minutes to being over. I was pretty much devistated that the reason I missed my show was due to poor cable connection. It always seems like a piece of technology bugs out when you really need it, but a tv, that was kind of odd to me.
it worked!
I think computers can be a very strange piece of technology somtimes. We tried to watch dvd's on my computer last semester when I moved back into the dorm and it would not work for anything. I know it works because I watched dvd's all last year and all last semester on my computer. Well, last night we put one in for the heck of it because we wanted to watch the longest yard.... and it worked! I have no idea what the difference was, if it was a different kind of dvd or what, but i'm very happy I can watch a dvd now in my room.

a little bit about myself
My favorite sport is volleyball to play, and my favorite sport is football to watch. The Pittsburgh STEELERS are my favorite football team! Classic Rock is my favorite music, and RUSH is my favorite band. I just found out they are coming to Pittsburgh July 2 and am so excited! I play the electric bass, and the piano. My family is everything to me and I would do anything for them.
